The Chemistry Department at Cambridge is one of the world's leading chemistry departments.

We attract top-rate postgraduate students from across the U.K., Europe and Overseas.

It is possible to study for:

a Ph.D. either full-time (3 years) or part-time (5 years)
a research-only M.Phil. (1 year, full-time)
an interdisciplinary taught M.Phil. in Micro- and Nanotechnology Enterprise

For U.K. and E.U. students we have studentships available from EPSRC, BBSRC and NERC, as well as from a PhD Training Programme in Medicinal Chemistry and an EPSRC NanoScience interdisciplinary PhD Doctoral Training Centre.

Did you know? The first professor of chemistry at Cambridge, John Vigani, was appointed in 1702 and the chair has been continuously occupied for over 300 years. We celebrated its tercentenary in 2002.
