Postgraduate Research in Chemistry at Cambridge

How to Apply

All applicants for Ph.D. (full- or part-time), M.Sc. or M.Phil. positions will need to complete the University Graduate Application Form. However we would like students in the U.K. who will be available to come to Cambridge for interview to complete a Preliminary Application Form. This will greatly speed up the processing of your application. Completion of the University Graduate Application Form may then be left until after you have been invited for interview. Students outside the U.K. or those who who cannot easily come for interview should not complete the preliminary form but should complete the University application form only.

The University's Graduate Prospectus can be viewed on-line and the application form can either be downloaded as a PDF file or filled in on-line.

It is most important that applicants indicate on their application the type of research that they would like to do for their Ph.D. or M.Phil. and, if possible, several supervisors in that field with whom they would like to work.

Application forms which do not have this information will generally be rejected by the Department.

A list of research fields in Chemistry and supervisors' research interests can be consulted on-line or a copy can be sent by post if you send an e-mail with your name and full postal address to admissions@ch.cam.ac.uk.
